Someone who takes pride in their work and wants to have a purposeful part to play as part of the school community. Ideally you will have experience of groundswork and/or landscaping.

We have 6.5 acres of land at our Swanley school site and 5.4 acres at our Tunbridge Wells school site - consisting of field, meadows, woodland areas and of course play areas and outside learning spaces.

The school will provide all equipment needed to carry out this role. The successful candidate will need to work at both the North (Swanley) and West (Tunbridge Wells) sites. Transport or travel reimbursement will be provided.

This is a 37 hour per week, 52 weeks per year role, ensuring that the school looks its best in every season and that the grounds are kept free of hazards and safe for students and staff.

The governors and school community are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at our school.

If you would like to visit our wonderful sites please contact us on 01892 510440 in the first instance and ask for Derek Fink.

Information about the school

Broomhill Bank is a co-educational Foundation Special School for students with Communication and Interaction needs who all have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Our education provision is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and our residential provision is rated ‘Outstanding’. We work to prepare our students for life, through academic achievement, therapeutic provision to ensure their wellbeing and by being part of the wider community.

There are two sites. Broomhill Bank West is in Rusthall near Tunbridge Wells. Broomhill Bank North is in Hextable near Swanley. Our North site has bespoke residential provision and semi-independent living accommodation.

Students are taught in small classes of 8-10 according to level of need, with lessons led by subject specialist teachers. We facilitate students to learn as independently as possible. Across Key Stage 4 and 5 students can undertake a variety of accredited qualifications including GCSE, Entry Level and Functional Skills. Our Sixth Form focuses students on preparation for life so that alongside academic achievement they can develop the life and work-related skills which will be vital to their future independence and self-sufficiency.

We are looking for applicants who share in our philosophy of lifelong learning and developing the potential of each individual.

Our Values and Ethos • We believe learning to lie at the heart of all we do with our students and staff • We believe our students and staff should be the best in all they do • We believe in, and respect the uniqueness of each member of our school community • We believe we have responsibilities to others outside Broomhill Bank

This is an exciting time to join our school as we continue to grow and develop. A refurbishment programme is improving and adding to existing facilities.
