New Line Learning are seeking to appoint a Head of Humanities with experience in any of the following specialist areas: Religious Education, Citizenship, Ethics, Psychology or Sociology. This new role presents an exciting opportunity for an innovative and experienced Teacher to lead a talented departmental team. The successful candidate will be an outstanding Teacher of Humanities with a demonstrated commitment to engaging and ambitious teaching practices. 

This role is a full time, permanent appointment starting from September 2024.

Main Duties and responsibilities:

  • To provide professional leadership and management for Humanities and secure high-quality teaching, effective use of resources and improved standards of learning and achievement for all pupils
  • To provide direction and to lead, support, motivate and develop the team of staff within the Academy
  • To monitor progress across all year groups within Humanities to ensure all pupils develop academically making the required progress.  
  • To develop early intervention strategies for learners and support the team with keeping parents informed of progress.
