Inclusion Leader wanted for our lovely school!

Do you have exceptional nurturing skills? Are you able to nurture both children and adults so that they flourish? Are you an excellent teacher and an inclusion expert? If so, Harrietsham Church of England Primary School could be the school for you.

Harrietsham is beginning an exciting new chapter in its journey, with a substantive headteacher having been appointed from April 2024.  Our Senior Leadership team is being expanded and this new team will be instrumental in driving the school forwards to pursue its exceptional potential.  Our Inclusion Leader will form a pivotal role within our new Leadership Team.

Our school has recently grown from 1-form to 2-form entry; with September marking the end of our expansion.  Our children and staff are happy, fun-loving and enthusiastic and our children have excellent learning behaviours.  We are now looking for an exceptional Inclusion Leader to join our team and to work with us to continue to grow the school. Together, our aim is to ensure that everyone reaches their full potential, like the mustard seed, so that our entire school family can flourish in every aspect of their education and life journey.

We are looking for an Inclusion Leader to lead a culture of nurture and inclusion for all within our school.  We require someone to lead our creative teaching team with inspiration, energy, enthusiasm and excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will take a lead role in growing the nurturing ethos of our school and they will line manage a committed team of Learning Support Assistants.

So, if you are a skilled, enthusiastic and experienced professional who is driven to ensure that all children receive the best possible education to enable them to flourish in all aspects of school life, you could be the person we are looking for to become our new Inclusion Leader.

You will need the following qualities, skills and experience:

  • A love of children and a determination to provide the best possible education and experiences for all in every aspect of school life.
  • A successful track record of working with parents to support co-authoring and close partnership with our families.
  • Expert knowledge and practice of inclusive teaching.
  • A commitment to inclusion and to working with all stakeholders to ensure inclusion for all.
  • A SENCO qualification or a commitment to complete.
  • Excellent leadership skills and a proven track record of leadership and teamwork.
  • A thorough knowledge of high-quality teaching & learning.
  • Clear thinking, with an ability to use systems effectively to deliver great outcomes.

The post is advertised as full-time, but part-time working arrangements would be considered for the right candidate.

Please read the attached Job Description and Person Specification for more detail.

We welcome candidates for tours of the school – tours will be held during the week commencing Monday 22nd April and can be booked via the school office (please contact our school office on 01622 859261 to book an appointment).

Candidates must be available for interview on Wednesday 8th May.

Our Vision Statement:

‘Nurtured we Flourish’

We are a warm, welcoming and inclusive school rooted in our rural community. Like the mustard seed, we grew from tiny beginnings and our branches are now spread wide – providing support and taking our values beyond the school gates. All those in our community feel safe and nurtured - able to flourish and grow academically, spiritually, emotionally and physically to achieve their full God-given potential.

Harrietsham Church of England Primary School is a friendly village school set in beautiful countryside in the heart of the community. We are expanding to 2-form entry and are nearly fully grown! We pride ourselves on the achievements of all of our pupils - we are a school where everyone works together putting children at the heart of everything we do. We welcome pupils and staff of all faiths and none and our vision and values of Love, Forgiveness and Fellowship guide our everyday actions.

Our school building (which dates from 2004 to 2021 when our new extension opened) houses classrooms, smaller learning areas, a well-stocked library and computer room, activity rooms and offices and we have extensive grounds including a nature garden and field with large scale play equipment. Outdoor learning is really important to us. We have supportive parents and an active PTFA and Governing Body. We maintain close links with the church and local community.
