Are you looking to start your career in a nurturing environment with lovely pupils and friendly, dedicated staff? Or perhaps you would like a change of setting, a new challenge or to develop your career? We are looking for a teacher to join our team in September.  This post could be based at etiher school as there are regular opportunities to move across the federation (our schools are only a mile apart).  We are willing to pay for experience and would welcome applications from more experienced teachers as well as those new to the profession. We have a variety of expertise on staff and are looking for the right person so we are happy to consider candidates with experience in any key stage with a preference for those with KS1 experience.  We have some degree of flexiblity so are also willing to consider applications for a 4 day week.

Newington is a church school and our vision is about 'realising the God-given potential in everyone'.  We welcome applications from people of all faiths or none but ask that you support our Christian values - welcoming, forgiving, generous and flourishing. At Lower Halstow our vision includes providing everyone with the opportunity to 'be the best they can be'.

You will

-know what excellent teaching looks like and be committed to your own continuous professional development and improvement in order to achieve this.

-be willing to take part in all aspects of school life including outdoor learning and forest school.

-be committed to adding value to the lives of our pupils, through planning enriching experiences and broadening horizons as you lead your class on a learning adventure.

-support our strategic aim of greener governance by taking part in eco activities.

We welcome visits to the schools and you are assured a warm welcome. We offer wonderful rural settings, well-resourced classrooms, polite pupils who are eager to learn and a ‘federation year group partner’ with opportunities for joint planning and mutual support where needed.

Please use Kent's Online Application Form if you are interested in this vacancy.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This post involves working with children and therefore if successful you will be required to apply for Disclosure and Barring Service records checks at an enhanced level, a health check and have satisfactory references. We are committed to equality and diversity in employment practice and service delivery.

Information about the federation

Newington CEP School and Lower Halstow School are single form entry village Primary Schools for children aged 2 - 11 and 4-11. Both have close links with their village church and community and spacious school grounds. Our schools offer a safe secure learning environment and are well equipped with a variety of resources and healthy budget for projects.

Newington was extended in 2000 with 4 additional classrooms and library and the original building has been fully renovated with the addition of an outdoor classroom and MUGA. It has an on-site nursery building catering for pupils from 2 years old. Lower Halstow School moved into its present building in October 2005 and offers many modern facilities such as a sports hall, running track, outdoor classroom, ICT suite & separate dining hall.

We have supportive governors and parents and our pupils are happy, polite, enthusiastic and are proud of their school. We are constantly striving to improve the opportunities for all and are always looking for new ways to make learning engaging and effective. Both schools have been graded Good in inspections in March and May 2019. Please read our reports to get a feel for our ethos or look at our X (twitter) feeds @NewingtonCEP or @lowerhalstowsch.

We are committed to ongoing professional development and our staff regularly access local and regional training. The schools work closely together to reduce workload and support well-being and both schools have a commitment to allowing flexible working wherever possible.
