CLEANER

Part-Time – All Year Round

We are adding more school cleaners to our professional site team to provide a polished, spotless, and neat environment for our students, staff and lettings. If you are reliable, self-motivated, conscientious, and someone who takes pride in your work then we would love to hear from you!

Working as part of our dedicated team under the direction of the Cleaning Manager, duties will include operating cleaning machinery, refuse collection and disposal, deep cleans during school closure, maintaining the rest rooms and ensuring hygiene standards are met.

Experience of cleaning in an educational setting using cleaning machinery and products are desirable, however full training will be provided for the successful applicant.

Various shifts are available from 6am - 9:15am and 3pm - 6:15pm, Monday to Friday. Working hours are, total 16.25 hours per week at £10.42 per hour.

In addition to providing the highest standards of teaching and learning, the priority of the Academy is the safety and welfare of its students. Therefore all staff undergo an enhanced DBS investigation and full references will be taken.

Subject to satisfactory appraisal, you may be eligible to progress within your pay band following set increments.

Information about the federation

Based in the heart of the historic City of Canterbury, The Canterbury Academy Trust came into existence in October 2010 when schools judged by Ofsted to be ‘outstanding’ were allowed to convert to academy status, benefit from greater freedoms and shape their futures.

Since then The Canterbury Academy Trust has grown and it now provides a variety of services ‘to improve the life chances of children and to help in the community’. These include: City View Pre-School and Nurseries Ltd; a newly built and expanded two form of entry The Canterbury Primary School; a Specialist Resourced Based Provision for primary ASD pupils; The Canterbury Academy, which has expanded to take an additional form of entry; a Specialist Resourced Based Provision for secondary Speech and Language students; The Cullum Centre, in partnership with The National Autistic Society; The Sixth Form, Enterprise and Employability Centre, which includes one of the largest Sixth Forms in Kent; The Canterbury Youth Commission, The Ashford Youth Commission, and area wide Inclusion and Engagement Service and Professional Learning and Community Centre with café.
