The children, staff and governors of Newington Community Primary School are looking for the right person to become a valuable part of the Senior Leadership Team. Our new Assistant Headteacher will lead KS 2, working closely with our Heads of Year to ensure provision is consistent and standards are high across the key stage. Additionally they will lead provision for the subjects of English and Maths, working with the subject leads to evaluate provision and analyse the impact on all of our chuildren's outcomes. 

Developing well rounded, confident children is central to our work at Newington Community Primary School and the team work hard to achieve this aim. We know that positive relationships across our community, coupled with high expectations are key to success. This role involves leadership of a commited team of core subject leaders to ensure the highest possible standards across the school for English (not early reading and Phonics) and Maths. Additionally they will work with Heads of Year from Years 3 - 6 to ensure that provision across the key stage is consistent and effective, supporting and building relationships with the team of leads to ensure effective organisation and running of the key stage.

The right person will have a relentless determination to ensure that all children thrive in our community, enjoying a rich MAths and English curriculum that meets their needs and supports their progress.  They will have excellent inter personal skills, being able to build effective relationships with children, staff and parents and work well as part of the wider leadership team. The role will involve class teaching on a reduced timetable (40% maximum) to ensure that teaching standards can be modelled to other staff and contact with classroom teaching is maintained.  Experience of highly effective teaching in KS 2 is essential.
