Primary Schools in Kent

There are 449 primaries throughout the county, ranging from small village schools to large urban primaries.

With schools nestled amongst the beautiful countryside, it’s easy to see how Kent secured its reputation as the garden of England and good transport links throughout the county mean that local amenities are never too far away. Don’t be daunted by the larger urban schools in our bustling towns, Kent County Council offers a range of support and development opportunities to help with your continued professional development throughout your teaching career.

If you are interested in working at a school in Kent we would recommend organising a convenient time to visit the school. For more information on Kent primary schools in general please contact the Kent Teach team at kent.teach@kent.gov.uk.

Parkside Community Primary School

Parkside Community Primary School is located on the edge of the city centre in the cosmopolitan City of Canterbury. Canterbury is a popular area of Kent, partly due to the unique combination of the rich history and modern culture.

Our School is within walking distance of the city centre whilst also near to nature as the School backs onto two woodland areas. There is no escaping the family atmosphere at Parkside. We are immensely proud of our caring and supportive staff and children who are well-behaved, friendly and have a sense of pride in their School and community together with our parents/carers and the governors we make The Parkside Team.

We take children from nursery age though to the end of KS2 (3 – 11).

Our spacious building includes large classrooms, a library, a Community Room, the Club Room for Breakfast and Tea Time Clubs, conference facilities and extensive landscaped grounds.

Parkside has a passion for innovation and improvement; we feel this is essential to develop well-rounded pupils who will thrive in the fast paced world.

Our School is devoted to its children and 2nd best is not good enough. We have high expectations and are committed to ensuring every child is happy and making progress – with piped music playing round the School and a lot of laughter, too!

Palmarsh Primary SchoolPalmarsh School Logo

Palmarsh Primary School can be found tucked away in Hythe, Kent.  We are just a short distance from the seafront and the rolling countryside provides us with delightful views through the classroom windows.

We cater for girls and boys ages 4-11 and currently have a roll of 80 children.  Our first priority at Palmarsh Primary School is to try and ensure that each child feels safe, secure and happy. Only in that context of confidence do we believe that children flourish and grow, and make the best of the educational opportunities we present them with.

We aim to provide a school ethos which reflects both a caring and considerate attitude to all our community's members.  This is based upon the principle of mutual respect and courtesy, and is reinforced by a code of conduct that details the positive ways in which we expect the children to behave.

Ofsted judged the school to be GOOD in 2011 and we aim to maintain and eventually improve that judgement in the future.
