Complex Learning Difficulties, mixed, 4-19, (47 Primary, 112 Secondary on roll)

31.25 Hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year).
Salary £11,397 to £12,767 depending upon experience (this includes SEN Allowance).

Due to an increase in pupils numbers and the delivery of varied KS5 vocational curriculum five teaching assistants are required ( Key Stages 3, 4 and 5) to commence from September 2013

Highview School caters for children experiencing complex learning needs often arising out of a combination of needs in addition to cognition and learning. OFSTED, in June 2011, said that “Highview is a good school which is improving rapidly …Pupils make consistently good progress in all areas of their learning.” Pupils have “exemplary behaviour” and there is a “peaceful learning environment around the school”.

This post offers an opportunity for five enthusiastic and experienced TAs to join our dedicated and highly effective staff team. The school prides itself on providing our pupils with much more than academic support within lessons and we are looking for people willing to commit to providing the very best all round education for these exceptional young people.

These Key Stage 3/4 posts involve supporting pupils with their learning throughout the day and the Key Stage 5 posts involve supporting pupils both onsite and offsite with their academic and vocational courses. Please note that a clean driving licence, a car and business insurance are desirable for the KS5 posts as they will involve transporting small groups of pupils to various locations. The hours may vary within these roles so flexibility is essential!

The school places a high priority on professional and career development. All staff receive a full induction and support programme throughout the year to achieve their performance management targets.

Visits to the school are welcome and can be arranged via the school office.

Please note that this position is subject to an enhanced CRB disclosure.

For further details and an application form please telephone or e-mail the school. Please indicate whether you are applying for the Key Stage 3/4 posts or the KS5 post.
