We seek to hire a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team, working three days a week in a non-classroom capacity. We believe this role is vital to the development of the long term education offer at Earlscliffe and is an integral part of ensuring the wellbeing of every student in our care. As a small school, we have a special opportunity to provide a nurturing environment where bright students with untapped potential can truly flourish. These are the highly intelligent students who are not best served in a larger mainstream environment but who, in a small school setting able to cater to individual learning styles, can begin to meet their true potential.

The SENCO will need to have the skills and experience to work efficiently and effectively to both meet the needs of students but also ensure staff across the school understand how to get the very best out of each and every student.

The SENCO element of the role will be 0.6 FTE with additional hours potentially available dependent on your teaching subject specialism and our curriculum.

Applicants should hold qualified teacher status and either possess the SENCO accreditation or be actively working towards it.

We can offer you:

  • The opportunity to inspire highly able and well-motivated students to fulfill and exceed their potential
  • A dynamic and supportive working environment
  • Opportunities for professional development
  • Small class sizes
  • Long holidays
  • Free meals form our in-house catering team
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme

Joining our team means becoming part of an enthusiastic and dedicated group within a supportive school community. We warmly welcome visits to the school to learn more about our environment.
