We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, friendly and committed Teaching Assistant to join our happy team. We require a  1:1 Teaching Assistant from September due to the needs of our school cohort.

The role will involve working directly as a 1:1 support with a  child both individually and within small groups, both in and outside the classroom. Good Maths and Literacy skills are required and further training and support can be provided. You may be required to provide additional support for the child through lunch and break times which will be added to the basic contractual hours.

All contracts would be linked to a named child for the duration that the child is at SJS. The basic contract is for 28.75 hours per week TTO Kent Range 3 £21,293 (pro rata to £12,595). Start time of 08.45 until 15.30.

The ideal candidates should:

• Have experience of working with children with Special Needs
• Have a minimum of an NVQ2 qualification and or equivalent GCSE Maths and English at C+
• Have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Be keen to develop their skills and use their own initiative where appropriate
• Have energy and determination to make a difference
• Have commitment to raising standards and achievement for all pupils

Sandwich Junior is a two form entry school. We currently have 225 pupils on roll. We are fortunate to have extensive grounds, which include two large playgrounds, a gardening area, outdoor music equipment, an Orchard and a full size Labyrinth to aid mindfulness and reflection.
