We are looking for an Inclusion Lead to join our school as a member of our Wider Leadership Team.

St Matthew’s is proud to be an inclusive school. We are looking for an inspirational Inclusion Lead/SENDCO to continue developing SEND and PP provision in the school. The SENDCO/Inclusion Leader Role is non-class based with some teaching to cover PPA (currently 0.5 days). This role would be part of our Wider Leadership Team. You would need a SEND qualification or be willing to take part in the programme immediately.

 We are looking for a candidate who shows:

  • Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Thorough knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
  • The ability to lead staff in developing their knowledge and expertise in working with SEND children
  • The ability to support and monitor the work of Teaching Assistants working with SEND and PP children
  • Knowledge of current approaches to integrating and supporting pupils with EAL.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team
  • The ability to liaise successfully with outside professionals for pupil support.
  • The ability to build successful working relationships with parents.

At present there are approximately 360 children on roll. The school serves the community of High Brooms, St John's and Southborough.
